Metro Bus Rawalpindi Route: Stations List 2026
The Metro Bus Rawalpindi route, officially called the Red Line, connects Saddar in Rawalpindi with Pak Secretariat in Islamabad along a dedicated 23 km corridor. With 24 stations and buses running every few minutes, it carries well over a hundred thousand passengers daily, making it the busiest public transport route in the twin cities. Below is the complete station-by-station list for 2026, in order from the Rawalpindi side.
Metro Bus Rawalpindi Route: All 24 Stations
Starting from Saddar Terminal in Rawalpindi, the route passes through Marrir Chowk, Liaqat Bagh, Committee Chowk, Waris Khan, Chandni Chowk, Rehmanabad, 6th Road, Shamsabad, Faizabad, IJP Road, Potohar and Khayaban-e-Johar. These thirteen Rawalpindi-area stations cover the busiest commercial and residential neighbourhoods, including Sadiqabad, Satellite Town, and the Murree Road corridor, so most commuters board within the first half of the line.
From Faiz Ahmed Faiz station the line crosses into Islamabad’s sectors, continuing through Peshawar Morr (Kashmir Highway), Chaman, Ibn-e-Sina, Katchery and PIMS. It then runs through the heart of Blue Area and the federal zone — Stock Exchange, 7th Avenue, Shaheed-e-Millat, Parade Ground — before ending at Pak Secretariat. The full journey takes around one hour and fifteen minutes, and the same order simply reverses when travelling from Islamabad back to Rawalpindi.
Interchanges, Fare & Timings on the Rawalpindi Route
Three stations on this route let you switch lines: Faiz Ahmed Faiz connects to the Orange Line heading to Islamabad International Airport, while PIMS station interchanges with both the Blue Line (towards Gulberg) and the Green Line (towards Bharakahu). If your trip needs two lines, you pay the separate fare for each, but the stations are designed for quick transfers without leaving the system.
A single ride costs around Rs 30–40, and you can pay with a rechargeable Metrobus card or a one-time token from any station counter. Service runs daily from 6:15 AM to 10:00 PM from both ends, so the route list above is equally useful at dawn and late evening. For daily commuters, the winning habit is simple: memorise your station’s position in this list — it makes transfers and journey time much easier to plan.
