Blue Bus Islamabad Timing & Route Guide 2026

If you ride the Blue Line in Islamabad, the first thing you need to know is when the buses actually run. Nobody wants to reach the stop early in the morning only to find the first bus hasn’t left yet. The good news is that the Blue Line keeps a simple, fixed daily window between PIMS Hospital and Koral Chowk — learn it once and you’ll never have to guess again.

First Bus, Last Bus and Frequency

The first Blue Line bus leaves at around 6:00 AM from both ends of the route, PIMS and Koral, so early commuters can reach work, the hospital or connecting lines on time. During the morning and evening rush, buses arrive roughly every 6 to 10 minutes, which keeps waiting times short even on the busiest days.

The last bus of the day departs at about 10:00 PM, again from both terminals. If you have a longer journey ahead, aim to board by 9:30 PM to be safe — a bus you miss after the 10:00 PM cut-off simply won’t come. On Fridays the schedule can shift slightly around prayer time, so check the notice at your station on the day.

Route, Stations and Current Fare

The Blue Line covers around 20 kilometres along the Islamabad Expressway with 13 stations, including Koral, Khanna Pul, Sohan, I-8, H-8, G-7/G-8, Centaurus and PIMS. The full end-to-end trip takes roughly an hour in normal traffic, and the line merges with the Red Line at PIMS for onward travel.

The fare is a flat Rs 100 per ride, no matter how many stops you travel — CDA raised it from Rs 50 in May 2025. Buy a token at the station or tap a metro card; either way, the ticket covers your whole ride on the Blue Line corridor.

The Blue Line runs every day of the week on the same hours, though during events or public holidays the authorities may adjust the schedule. Before a late-night trip, a quick look at the CDA or CMTA announcement can save you from getting stranded. With the first and last bus times in your head, the rest is easy.
